MENA Newswire: Dubai, UAE, 26 January 2026 – The 1st Dubai International Conference & Exhibition on Green Artificial Intelligence for a Green Planet (DICEGAI 2026) concluded on Sunday at the Dubai Police Academy, underscoring Dubai’s expanding role as a regional hub for policy, research, and applied innovation in environmentally focused artificial intelligence. The two-day conference brought together policymakers, academics, researchers, and industry leaders to advance responsible Green AI solutions addressing climate, infrastructure, and long-term sustainability challenges.

Prof. Dr. Bin Fahad and Dr Hamdan meet with the Bahraini delegation set to host the next Green AI conference.

Held under the patronage of H.E. Lieutenant General Abdalla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the conference provided a structured forum for international experts and institutions to examine governance frameworks, applied use cases, and deployment pathways for Green Artificial Intelligence. Discussions focused on how AI can be integrated responsibly to manage climate risks, ecosystem pressures, and long-term environmental objectives through ethical and data-driven approaches.

The second day of the conference concentrated on applied Green AI solutions, with sessions dedicated to the built environment and climate mitigation. Presentations covered AI-enabled smart buildings, circular urban development models, green cooling technologies, advanced HVAC systems, building retrofit analytics, and AI-driven indoor air quality monitoring, highlighting how intelligent systems can enhance efficiency, resilience, and environmental performance across urban infrastructure.

Applied AI solutions for climate and infrastructure

Discussions within the built environment session emphasized the importance of embedding artificial intelligence into infrastructure planning, design, and facility management. Speakers outlined how predictive analytics and data-led decision-making can reduce emissions, optimize resource utilization, and support sustainable urban growth while aligning environmental goals with operational and economic considerations relevant to rapidly developing cities.

The research and climate change mitigation session addressed broader sustainability challenges, showcasing academic and institutional approaches to Green AI. Topics included sustainable AI research frameworks, circular economy models, environmental regeneration initiatives, and climate education through AI-powered learning tools and serious games. The session concluded with an open discussion that produced practical recommendations for collaboration, policy coordination, and future research priorities.

The conference concluded with a formal closing ceremony, followed by bilateral interactions among participants. These engagements aimed to strengthen international cooperation, encourage cross-sector knowledge exchange, and identify opportunities for joint research and implementation initiatives that support the transition from conceptual research to real-world sustainability outcomes.

Prof. Dr. Bin Fahad delivers the official closing remarks at the Dubai Green AI conference.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Mohamed A. Bin Fahad, Chairman of the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment, thanked participating organizations, academic institutions, speakers, and delegates for their active engagement throughout the conference. He acknowledged the contributions of Dubai Police, Curtin University Dubai, Adishankara Engineering Institute, NIT Calicut, and other supporting institutions in establishing DICEGAI 2026 as a credible platform for applied dialogue on Green Artificial Intelligence.

Prof. Dr. Bin Fahad also expressed appreciation to the conference sponsors, partners, exhibitors, and organizing committees for their support and coordination. He noted that their collective efforts were instrumental in ensuring the smooth delivery of the event and in advancing its technical, academic, and knowledge-sharing objectives over the two-day program.

As part of the closing ceremony, the conference formally honored its speakers, participants, sponsors, partners, and organizing teams in recognition of their contributions to the success of DICEGAI 2026. Awards and certificates were presented to acknowledge academic excellence, professional engagement, and institutional support, reflecting the collaborative spirit that defined the conference.

Prof. Dr. Bin Fahad and Dr Hamdan honor Higher Colleges of Technology poster competition winners.

The closing ceremony also included the announcement of the winners of the poster competition, which featured research and application-driven projects submitted by universities and schools in Dubai. The top prize in the university category was awarded to students from the Higher Colleges of Technology. Selected entries were recognized for innovation, relevance, and practical impact, highlighting emerging ideas from students and researchers.

Future roadmap for green AI in the region

“DICEGAI 2026 has demonstrated that responsible artificial intelligence can deliver tangible environmental value when guided by cooperation, ethics, and shared purpose,” Prof. Dr. Bin Fahad said. “I extend my sincere thanks to all organizations, sponsors, partners, and participants who contributed to this success, and I am pleased to announce that the next edition of this conference will be hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

The conference concluded with participants reaffirming Dubai’s growing role in the Middle East as a convening platform for policy dialogue, research collaboration, and applied innovation in Green Artificial Intelligence. Discussions highlighted the emirate’s ability to bring together regional and international stakeholders to advance practical frameworks that align AI deployment with environmental priorities, climate resilience, and long-term sustainability objectives.
